Fingerprint project

These are my fingerprints:

Hi, today I’ll be talking about the project we did on fingerprints. What we did was learned how to take our fingerprints, this is how you do it: 1st, you darkly shad/color in a little spot on another piece of paper. 2nd, you put one of your fingers on the patch that you colored in. 3rd, you put that finger on a piece of tape to take the finger print. 4th, you put the piece of tape on a piece of paper to see the fingerprint. Finally, you repeat the process and see what fingerprint you have. Here are all the fingerprint facts: these are the types radial loop, ulnar loop, double loop, central pocket loop, plain arch, tented arch, plain whorl, and accidental. But that is all I have to say about the fingerprint project. Bye👋

Now I am going to talk about the things he talked to us about. He talked to us about when he went to space and about his book. First he talked about his book: How to Astronaut. But then he talked about all his space trips he told us all about what he worked with on the ship, how the rocket took of and landed, he showed is many pictures, the pictures were very cool, he showed us each way astronauts worked out on the ships, and he talked about how the astronauts are prepared for space. But that was all I remember  that he talked about.Bye 👋 here is a picture of him talking about that preparation to go into space.

My Story

Hi, today I am talking about My Story project this is the description:

Despite the scientific preparation she receives from her parents and the En Cognito program for practical usefulness on Sagan, Petra believes that stories play a critical role in ensuring a society’s prosperity and survival. Petra realizes that storytelling, however, is not as easy as it seems. Skilled storytellers study and practice it as a craft. She didn’t get the Cog to train her as a storyteller, but she’s willing to learn on her own. We all have stories to tell and your assignment is to find one that is particularly meaningful to you and retell it in your own words.

You may have a favorite story that someone shared with you as a child, you may have a family story that older generations have retold for years, or you may have a blend of stories that you have made into your own.

Here is my story:

March 12, 2013 is the day I was diagnosed with cancer. I was 2 1/2 years old. The type of cancer I had is called acute lymphocytic  leukemia, all for short. Nobody in my family had ever been diagnosed with anything like this. It’s a complete mystery to all my family and to doctors why I had leukemia. Up to that point in my life I had rarely  been sick. Now we know that might have been a sign of what has to come. Yeah, after the discovery of my cancer, I had no cancer in my body within one month of taking the medicine called chemotherapy. Still the treatment for this cancer at the time, girls had to take chemo for 2 1/2 years after their diagnosis. My treatment ended on May 13, 2016 and the cancer in my blood continues to stay away. It’s called being in remission, for the last seven years! On the day of my diagnosis my dad was putting on my pajamas. He called my mom to enter the room. He asked her if I looked different. She agreed I did look different, my face is really puffy. He said that my mom should take me to the emergency room. When we were there a doctor from a bigger hospital from San Francisco happened to be on call there. He had a suspicion, and ordered some blood tests. Next thing we know two other very serious looking doctors came into our room to meet with my mom and I. They told my mom that I had leukemia. My mom didn’t believe them. That’s why she seemed calm and not so upset. Next they loaded us into an ambulance to go to UCSF to get immediate chemotherapy treatment. My dad met up with us at the hospital. I hated the doctors all my life up to that point, and I was asking my usual self screaming at the top of my lungs. Every time a doctor came near me. Even after 2 1/2 years of treatment for cancer I still never got comfortable with all the needle pokes. When I was done with my dream, my mom filmed me running happily down a grass hill in front of the hospital looking very happy and healthy. I continue to visit a cancer doctor in my new hometown of Chapel Hill. Dr. Black makes sure that nasty cancer hasn’t come back to haunt me and my family.

That was my story and here is some pictures to go along with it.

This is when I was done with treatment. This picture is when I was first diagnosed.

Book Arts Project

Hi, today I am talking about the book project my grade was doing a book arts project off of the Perfect Planet. We worked with Peg Gignoux as our teacher. To make these books we had to use Aquia ink and a gel pad to use the ink and make prints for our books. We had to fold and cut out a peep hole to let people see a scene in our book. We had to glue our books together to make them stay put together in a book. Then, when we were all finished with making our books we glued letters to the name of our planets. Then, we glued the words and description of our planet in our books. We also glued in our pictures. Here is the pictures of my book. Also here is her website: https://gignouxart.com/

Last Wednesday/ May 3rd at my school we had a Food Truck-Rodeo + Makers Market. First I will explain the Food Truck- Rodeo, a Food Truck- Rodeo is where lots of food trucks come to our school at lunch and recess, we just talk with our friends and eat food. All of the food trucks were Boba Tea, Ice Cream, Kona Ice, Korean Barbecue, Dumplings, Pizza, Burgers, Chicken and Belgian Waffles. I am probably forgetting some. But that was the   Food Truck- Rodeo. Now let me talk about the Makers Market. The Makers Market is where students make anything from scratch and bring it in on that day. All the students and teachers would buy from each stand. There was things from candles, lip gloss, baked goods, cotton candy and jewelry. But that was the Food Truck- Rodeo + Makers Market. Bye 👋.

Play

Hi, today I am talking about the professional Chamber Theatre play we saw at my school. The first play was called The Monkey’s Paw, this was about a magical/cursed monkey paw, in the scene you see the character who first had the Monkey Paw give the paw to this family. In the play you see the family who got the Monkey’s Paw have everything bad happen. The next play was called The Necklace. The Necklace is about a woman who marries a boring man who does not bring her joy but then he got an invitation for his wife to go to the ball, but her wife was so exited. But the pro plea was she didn’t have a fancy dress but her husband gave her all his money but she didn’t have a necklace to go with it. In this play you see her find a necklace and how she regrets it. But those were the two plays. Bye 👋.

Stock Market

Hi, today I am talking about the stock market and why my class is doing it. So first I will explain why. We are doing the Stock Market because I don’t know if you know this book called The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin but in this book there is a character called Turtle Wexler and she loves the Stock Market. So we decided to copy her and do our own Stock Market game. So my team and I all decided to invest our fake $20,000 in Walt Disney, Nike, Lululemon, Starbucks, Microsoft and Walmart. We decided on these by looking back on how they did in the past months and years. We are predicting they will do good because of their history. We made a spread sheet to keep track of how much we gain and lose. How we made it was using equations so when we put the prices in it tells us if we are up or down. But that is all I have to say. Bye 👋

Hi, I am now talking about history . To be honest I like history but sometimes I spend way too much time on the reminders. In history we are learning about Greece and the polis. It is fun to learn about but we had to make a mind map but I hate that type of notes way. But eventually I learned that my mind map was perfect. But that is mostly what we are learning, bye 👋.

I am talking about math today 🥲. But I am good at math but it just is not my favorite. We have been dividing decimals and multiplying them but to be honest, I already know how to do it because of Kumon. I will explain Kumon in my next blog. But usually math is a fun environment plus my teacher is awesome . But that is all I have to say bye ✌️.
